    Questions, answered.

    Which width should I buy?

Measure the spine cover to cover and add 1 inch, then take the next width up: a 1" spine takes 2" tape, a 1-1/2" spine takes 3". The width chooser does the math.

    Cloth, clear or vinyl?

Cloth re-covers and rebuilds a spine in a solid matte color. Clear stretchable tape protects and repairs while the original cover shows through. Vinyl comes on a grid-printed liner for measuring and cutting, with a matte, see-through finish.

How much does one roll do?

A 15-yard roll is 540 inches. Each spine strip is the book's height plus 1-1/2", so a roll re-covers about 50 spines on a 9-inch-tall book.

Will the color match my book?

Cloth tape comes in 11 matte colors: Black, Brown, Burgundy, Navy Blue, Forest Green, Red, White, Tan, Olive, Gray and Yellow. Wings and corners come in the first seven. The color goes all the way through the cloth, so it won't rub off.

    Is it archival?

The adhesive on BookGuard cloth and clear tape is pH neutral and acid free, and the tape won't yellow. It is also permanent, so for a rare or valuable book, talk to a conservator first.

Can I pay with a purchase order?

Yes. Purchase orders are accepted. How to order with a PO.

    What if it isn't right?

Unused items can be returned within 30 days.

Keep your books in hands, not in boxes.
